Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the Mascot Rail Operations plant & warehouse facilities. This will be accomplished by the effective management of perpetual inventory records in our ERP system through the utilization of various inventory control practices, including, but not limited to: cycle counting, data reporting, analysis, and reconciliation of discrepancies. This position is a critical element of Timken's on-going effort to continually improve inventory accuracy.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:¬ 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Perform physical inventory counts, adhering to the approved cycle counting schedule.

  • Identify and research all inventory count discrepancies/variances in a timely manner.

  • As a part of the reconciliation process, investigate variances to identify root causes.

  • Document results of cycle counts as well as root cause data, and contribute to the development and implementation of corrective actions that will effectively eliminate the root causes.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy metrics and associated reports for management.

  • Update and report inventory valuation data on a weekly basis, providing details of key drivers.

  • Work with plant and warehouse personnel to confirm that inventory procedures are being followed.

  • Support the activities associated with conducting annual physical inventories, or other random/special cycle count requests, audits, reconciliations, etc.

  • Ensure that standardized best practice procedures are documented and adhered to in all aspects of work including but not limited to performing cycle counts and system inventory transactions, maintaining inventory records/logs, etc.

  • Participate in and support process improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required, college degree preferred

  • 1-2 years prior experience with inventory control processes utilizing ERP systems, SAP preferred

  • Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office software, especially Excel

  • Strong math proficiency

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.


Physical Demands & Frequency: Requires lifting, standing, sitting, walking, reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, pushing, visual acuity and hearing.

  • Position: Standing, sitting, and walking.

  • Weights & Force: Generally light to moderate forces exerted up to 50 pounds lifting.

  • Use of Controls:¬  Utilization of forklifts and typical business machine controls, computer keyboards, scanners, printers, etc.



Must be able to pass the forklift certification test and drive a forklift as needed.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
